All Lives Matter – Plaques and Statues

Mission Viejo dedicates a monument to those affected by the opioid crisis - Tuesday, October 29, 2019

The monument at the corner of Alicia and Marguerite parkways comes two years after Barber helped create a similar memorial in Laguna Niguel’s Crown Valley Park. Barber said she has been working closely for years with past and current Mission Viejo officials, such as councilwomen Wendy Bucknum and Trish Kelley and former councilwoman Rhonda Reardon, to make the monument near the lake a reality.

This was the first tree planted in Laguna Niguel, CA. The goal is to place a plaque in several cities. The event was to bring awareness to the drug overdose epidemic and to keep children from starting. The memorial tree and plaque also honor our loved ones lost. It was an honor to have Senator Pat Bates speak and the City of Laguna of Laguna Niguel as a sponsor.  Thank you, Laurie Davies, for your involvement.
