Senator DeSaulnier just authored a new CURES funding bill, SB 809
Laguna Niguel, California mom, Jodi Barber, tells her story of how she lost her beloved son Jarrod from a prescription pill overdose three years ago. The CURES system will enable prescribers and pharmacists to review controlled substance information to identify and deter drug abuse of Schedule II-IV controlled substances within the State of California.
***UPDATE – August, 2013 – Now that the bill has passed through the senate, please help us by contacting Gov. Brown via email or by phone asking him to sign bills SB 809 (CURES) and
Senate Bill 62, which would require coroners to report prescription overdose deaths to the Medical Board.***
